Manufacturing
Technology
In the Manufacturing Technology program you will
develop the skills and knowledge necessary for gaining an entry-level position
in the precision metal machining industry. You learn about the proper and safe use of various machines
and will become familiar with basic setups and various machining
operations. You will begin to
become involved with computers and the role they play in controlling machine
operations and productivity.
The Center is also an approved site for Project
Lead the Way pre-engineering courses.
Students may elect to take Introduction to Engineering Design and/or
Principles of Engineering at the Huot Technical Center or the home school to
gain knowledge and skills that are related to pre-engineering concepts. Computer-aided drafting and design, and
computer aided manufacturing will be taught in that curriculum.
Advanced
students will use computer workstations to learn basic design of parts to be
machined, geometric tolerances, and preparation of CNC codes for translation
into precision machining operations.
This is an excellent option for students interested in engineering and
manufacturing design. The program articulates with the New
Hampshire Community Technical College system and Central Maine Community College.
