> Pre-Engineering (Project Lead-the-Way)
Project
Lead-the-Way is a model for our program that .....
is developed as
a national curriculum that teaches students basic skills and knowledge in
pre-engineering concepts. The
program consists of three courses at present. Students may earn credits in
Pre-Engineering through an articulation agreement with New
Hampshire Technical Institute.
A. Introduction to
Engineering Design
Students develop problem solving skills with an
emphasis placed upon the concept of developing a 3-D model or solid rendering of
an object. State of the art
computer hardware and software will be used to emphasize design development
processes and CADD.
B. Principles of Engineering
Students learn about systems of engineering design and learn about hydraulics,
pneumatics, and materials testing. Technik kits will be used for lab
exercises like bridge building and material transfer. Introduction to
robotics principles will also be given.
C.
. Principles of Engineering
This course is designed to have students experience the integration of
computers into manufacturing. Students will learn how to program robotic
systems, program small precision CNC milling units, and create programs on
computer that can be translated into manufacturing process by machine.
